To rsync παίζει κανονικά, με δυο updates την μέρα, και λειτουργεί και απομακρυσμένα. Δεν βρήκα χρόνο να στήσω κάποιο ftpd ή httpd (μάλλον light) για να μπορούν και απομακρυσμένα να κατεβαίνουν τα sources. Μέσα στην εβδομάδα θα είναι up and running.

Αν τρέχεις rsyncd σερβερ σε ενα μηνανημα τότε είσαι μια χαρα. Για απομακρυσμενα απλά ανοιγεις την πόρτα του rsync
Όσον αφορά το pwmn λειτουργεί κανονικά?
Τα πακέτα οι απομακρυσμένοι πελάτες δεν τα κατεβάζουν με rsync αλλά με ftp, http κάτι (με το wget ). Το rsync το χρησιμοποιείς για να συγχρονίσεις (να έχεις ακριβές αντίγραφο) του portage tree (όχι των αρχείων). Υπάρχει και το web-rsync ή κάπως έτσι (ΔΕΝ το έχω χρησιμοποιήσει) που κατεβάζει το tree από κάποιον mirror (από εκεί που κατεβάζεις και τα sources - το current portage tree συνήθως) όχι με το rsync (και το όποιο speedup που αυτό προσφέρει) αλλά μέσω http ή ftp το tarball με τα περιεχόμενα του portage tree.

Ναι ρε μάρκο. Οι official gentoo rsync servers κάνουν rsync ανα 4 ώρες ξεκινώντας από τις 12 τοπική ώρα, και κάνουν από έναν master "hidden" repository στο οποίο έχουν πρόσβαση μόνο οι δηλωμένοι servers...
Εγώ κάνω 2 φορές την μέρα (8 το πρωί και 8 το βράδυ) και όχι από τον master...
